Important Update – Le Printemps de Minou 2025 Cancelled
Le Printemps de Minou was set to take place this Saturday, April 26 in Monpazier, but unfortunately the event has been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
We’re keeping this blog live for those who want to learn more about this beloved local festival — because even though it’s not happening this weekend, it’s worth knowing why Le Printemps de Minou 2025 is so special.

Now back to the original blog: what makes Le Printemps de Minou such a special event?
Le Printemps de Minou 2025 was scheduled for Saturday, April 26 in Monpazier a free local music festival with live acts, good food, and a laid-back vibe. It’s become a real tradition in this Dordogne village. And it’s not just about the music (although that’s a big part of it). There’s a personal story behind it that makes it even more meaningful.
Thinking of visiting the Dordogne another time? Put Monpazier on your list — and maybe plan ahead for the next edition of Le Printemps de Minou.

ToggleA festival with a story
Let’s start at the beginning. This festival isn’t something created by an events agency or a tourist board. It was started by a group of friends and family who wanted to keep the memory of someone close to them alive.
Jean Christophe Vergne, better known as Minou, ran a pizzeria in Monpazier. He was one of those people who just brought others together — he loved music, often organised little events, and always made people feel welcome. When he passed away in 2012, it left a big gap in the village.
So his friends and family came together and said: let’s keep that spirit going. They set up the association Les Amis de Minou, and in that same spirit, they created a small music festival just how Minou would’ve liked it. Nothing fancy, just people, music, food, and a good time.
What to expect this year
This year’s edition takes place on Saturday 26 April, right in the heart of the village. It all starts at 2 PM with an open stage, where local artists and newcomers get a chance to perform. Always fun to see some surprises there.
Main line-up from 5:30 PM
Here’s who’s performing this year:
- Individu XY – something a bit edgier

- Batufraka – big percussion, lots of rhythm
- The Movers – energetic and fun
- Un P’tit Gars du Coin – local flavour with soul
- Opus Temple – a bit mysterious, but definitely worth hearing
- + surprise guests – as always!
And yes the whole thing is completely free.
Food, drinks & atmosphere
There will be food trucks, grills, and drinks available on the square, so you don’t need to bring anything except your good mood. It’s easygoing, welcoming, and perfect whether you’re with friends, family, or just passing through.
Kids running around, people catching up over a glass of wine, bands doing their thing on stage — that’s exactly the kind of day it is.

Monpazier: worth the trip
Even if you’ve never been to Monpazier, this is a great excuse to visit. It’s one of those French villages that’s actually as nice as the photos. Old stone buildings, little cafés, and a market square that feels made for this kind of event.
