Easter at Village de la Madeleine – Dordogne Event Guide
I came across this Easter event in Dordogne and really wanted to share it with you.
If you’re in the area during the spring holidays and looking for something fun and meaningful to do, this might be just what you’re after. At the Village de la Madeleine in Tursac, a series of small, hands-on family-friendly activities will be taking place — from Easter egg hunts and balm-making workshops to guided medieval tours and traditional bread baking.
Family-Friendly Easter Activities at Village de la Madeleine
It’s one of the most unique Easter events in Dordogne, perfect if you’re looking for things to do in Dordogne with kids or just want to enjoy the region’s atmosphere in a slower, more local way. It’s not just for children (though there are plenty of child-friendly options). Even as an adult, I think it’s one of those places where you can pause, take in the surroundings, and experience a bit of Dordogne’s history and nature in a very real way.
I thought it might be nice to show you a bit of what it looks like there. Here’s a short video from the Village de la Madeleine it gives you a good idea of the atmosphere and what to expect when you visit.

Make the most of your visit
If you decide to join one of these workshops, it’s worth spending a bit more time in the area. I really like walking around the site itself — it’s quiet, interesting, and the views are nice. You’re also close to Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, which has a few spots for lunch or just a coffee by the river. It’s one of those days where you don’t need to plan too much — just go, take it in, and see where it leads.

Why I’m sharing this:
I don’t often come across events like this — especially not back in the Netherlands. This one stood out to me because it’s rooted in local heritage, nature, and simple experiences that let you feel part of the place. If you’re around Dordogne during the Easter break, it’s worth checking out.

I’ve also put together a 7-day Dordogne itinerary, based on places I’ve personally visited — including food markets in Sarlat, wellness spots that feel calm and down-to-earth, and villages with that typical Dordogne charm.
Everything I share is handpicked, not sponsored — just the things I genuinely like myself.
You’ll find the full itinerary and more on my site if you’re curious.
If you’d like to check the full program or book a spot, you’ll find all the info on the Village de la Madeleine website.
